Correct closure of showers in sports facilities in accordance with the Drought Decree

📢 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CORRECT CLOSURE OF SHOWERS 🚿 IN SPORTS FACILITIES ACCORDING TO THE DROUGHT DECREE 📢

According to the new measures applied for the reduction of water consumption in accordance with the Drought Decree in Catalonia, from Apliclor we detail some recommendations when closing the showers.

⚠️ Closing showers incorrectly poses a risk of proliferation of Legionnaires’ disease 🦠

Before shutting off the showers, try to reduce water consumption by installing systems to reduce the activation time of the buttons or by installing atomising diffusers, which combine water and air.
Avoid total shutdown of the installation. Whenever possible, we recommend closing 50% of the showers and alternating their use on a weekly basis to ensure water circulation at all end points.
In the event of a complete shutdown, it must be possible to completely empty the relevant circuit/branch. Please note that after a shutdown of more than one month, the system must be cleaned and disinfected before it is put back into operation.
