Arsenic is a chemical element present in nature that is among the most toxic for human consumption. Tens of millions of people are documented to have been affected by exposure to water with high concentrations of arsenic in many areas of the world, including Spain. Henceforth, the Royal Decree 140/2003 of February 7 limits the content of arsenic in water to 10 ppb (10 μg/liter).
Apliclor Water Solutions designs, builds, and installs plants for the removal of arsenic dissolved in water, using specific adsorbent media designed for such purpose. Bayoxide®, the active media through which the arsenic is adsorbed, is a granular media made from iron oxides. This product guarantees, with a suitable contact time, a water with a concentration of arsenic clearly lower than that specified by European legislation.
