Liquefied chlorine and ammonia storage facilities are designed, installed and used under the highest safety standards. The possibility of accidental leaks is functionally minimized and automatically monitored. Additionally, as determined by the R.D. 656/2017 of June 23, in storages above 500 kg of chlorine, it is mandatory to install a leak neutralization system capable of treating the contents of the largest existing vessel.
Even after considering all the above, the problems associated with any leakage will always be directly related to the capacity of the vessel or vessels feeding the circuit. With the awareness of this potential risk, and in mitigating it, Apliclor Water Solutions has its own automatic container locking control system which automatically closes the cylinders or containers connected to the process when a chlorine leak is detected in the environment.
